Yesterday, we demoed at the Lower Hudson Valley Engineering Expo at White Plains High School for the third year in a row.
For our middle school room activity, we ran a popsicle Truss Bridge activity. With diagrams from both Make Vol. 36 pg. 142 and WeSee Explorations, the kids got a lot of inspiration for their bridges. It was interesting to see how many designs there were, even if all of them used triangles for strength!

In the main room, our drivers got some last-minute practice before the East Super Regional. Our other members talked up the crowds, and many people went away excited over FIRST. Hopefully we’ll meet some new teams next season 😉
All in all, it was a great day. We built some bridges, met engineering enthusiasts, and got to spend time with friends. We are so honored to have been a part of this event from our start!
