Spring Break Outreach

These past several days were our spring break, but that didn’t give us any reason to stop the robot fun! We went out and demoed at two events and made it loud about FIRST.

On April 19th, we demoed at Danbury LEGO Robotics to help FLL team 13489 Techic Terminators fundraise for their trip to the World Competition. We got to display FTC with our friends at 5017 RoboEpic. We also met FRC team 1099 DiscoTechs. Three out of the four programs in action, event-goers were able to grasp how sweeping an organization FIRST is. This event also helped the Techic Terminators see FTC up close and allowed them to ask questions since they plan on making the transition in the upcoming season.

Then, yesterday, April 26th, we demoed at the Westport Mini Maker Faire. Once again we were joined by 5017 RoboEpic, but 4286 Dragonoids also came along. It was a fun time as we got to show our bots off to people who already have a great appreciation for making and doing, but did not necessarily know about FIRST. We also got some time to go around and meet the other makers!

All in all, these events were a great experience and helped us get a jump start on next season’s goal. 478 hours to go!
