Yesterday, May 9th, the team visited BASF Tarrytown along with another KCHS student. We toured the White biotechnology lab and learned about real-world applications of biochemistry. This was an informative and fun experience as we got to see STEM careers in action.
The special part of the tour wasn’t even the tour itself. We got to meet an employee who was a former FRC-er. He gave a personalized presentation on how FIRST skills can be applied to careers, and specifically biochemistry.
All in all, we had a lot of fun on our first (of hopefully many!) STEM company tours. It was great to see FIRST alumni in action!
